'LetsDance' is back!
A fun idea born from a need to dance like no-one’s watching, Gill Hughes and the LetsDance team are back!
Returning after a Covid hiatus, the avid local dancers have organised five more dance sessions, for over 18s, who love to lose themselves in music and dance with like-minded people.
The LetsDance team - which includes Gill’s daughters and a couple of great friends who have helped from the start - the aim is to set up a nightclub environment with music from across the decades, where groups of friends, couples or people on their own can go and have a really warm welcome…
Started back in 2018, LetsDance is an idea developed out of need to put some fun back in my life, says Gill. Approaching 60, with three grand-children and single, she was unable to find anywhere to go.
Gill explains: “There was absolutely nowhere suitable for me to go on my own, lose myself in music, dance (like no one is watching) and let the day to day pressures of life just fade away and be able to get a cup of tea – apart from in my own kitchen!
Yes, there are nightclubs and dance classes but they felt too structured or too loud.”
So LetsDance was born.
The majority of events are held at St Andrews Centre in Pershore, in explanation,
Gill says: “This beautiful atmospheric building just lends itself to create a wonderful nightclub”.
Entrance is pay on the door (£5) and the team suggest that you take your own drinks and glasses (tea and coffee are available to buy) and have some fun!
The next opportunity to dance like no-one’s watching is 19th November from 8pm.
Over 18s only.
