Flower Club News

Members of the Flower Club were delighted to hold once again their annual Open Meeting at Number 8 in Pershore on Tuesday, 16 th November and to welcome many friends as guests and also to welcome Kath Lee, Area President. Our demonstrator this year was Delyth Price who had driven from South Wales in her very roomy van which was full of boxes of flowers, bundles of foliage and various containers plus additional arrangements which she had done to compliment those which we were going to enjoy. And did we enjoy them! Her evening was entitled “Christmas is coming” and at the last moments of each design we listened to a variety of Christmas music to which she encouraged us to sing along.

Her designs were exquisite, the materials she used of the highest quality and we also much enjoyed her “patter”. She kept us well and truly amused as she worked creating these beautiful arrangements. When these were displayed on the platform, as you can see in the attached photograph, the overall effect was spectacular. It was a shame to see them dismantled, but the winners of the raffle were delighted to be able to take these prizes home.

We have our AGM on 19th January, so the next demonstration evening will be on Wednesday, 16th February, when we shall welcome Chrissie Barnes from Elmley Castle “in the flesh” having had a very successful and enjoyable demonstration by her on zoom back in February. All visitors welcome at Bishampton Village Hall on this date at 7.30 p.m.
