Work starts on cycle track
Work has started on building a new cycle track in Evesham’s Charity Brook Park. Wychavon is investing £37,500 in creating the Pump Track, which will allow novice riders of any age build confidence and skills on a bike away from traffic. Experienced cyclists can also use it to enhance their skills without putting others at risk.
The unique design and tarmac surface mean it will also be appropriate for skateboards and mini wheels. The work which started on Monday (29 June) and is expected to take six weeks to complete. The track replaces the previous one, which had been in place for 10 years, but had to be closed in November 2018 on safety grounds as it had become rotten.
