Pershore Town FC appoint new manager - Danny Janes

Danny Janes, who previously played for Pershore Town, was appointed manager of the Worcestershire side in November following the depature of Neil Parton.

Janes, whilst young in age, comes with a wide range of coaching and managerial experience - previously managing FC Stratford to the top of Pershore's league, Hellenic League Division One.

"Joining a club part way through a season is always difficult. Our short-term objectives have been to get to know the players as much as possible, as well as giving the players an insight into how we work and what we expect from them." said Janes.

"Our approach and philosophy will take time to implement, we don't want to rush our approach, but at the same time we need to pick up results.

Next season we want to win this league, I never shy away from high standards or expectations, if we do not win the league next season then we have not delivered the expectations of the Chairman and the Director of Football. We have spoken with the players around the importance of building for next season, the work has already begun and everything we do from this point will contribute to next season.

We want to work with the current squad with a few additions, at the end of the season we will review the squad based on who we can trust to deliver what we want and are able to meet the playing standard required.

This season we must gain momentum, we can't use an excuse of we are building for next year, we need to pick up results now and finish the season strongly.

Our focus is to break in to the top 8 and then assess from there. We are still in three cups and our ambitions are to progress as far as we can and try and win one.

We came to Pershore because of the size of the club and the potential it has. I have always felt the club has underperformed for a few seasons now, we are relishing the pressure and I am excited about the journey."
